Lovebox collects returns from its customers, and after a long time in storage, a decision had to be made about how to handle them. Lovebox didn’t want to throw away products without consideration for the environment, so it was decided to set up a reconditioning/recycling chain. In this project, I was responsible for the person in charge and helped him with the process.
Process
- Decision on returns processing: reconditioning (functional returns) and recycling (after-sales returns) ;
- Sourcing suppliers capable of repackaging and recycling Loveboxes ;
- Refurbishment process set up ;
- Production of documentation (video and text) for partners: reconditioning, dismantling a Lovebox, reset process, components to be replaced, defect library ;
- Estimate returns over a year and order spare parts accordingly for the 2 reverse logistics partners ;
- Price negotiation ;
- Checking compliance with procedures and correcting non-compliance ;
- Stock and costs tracking of refurbished Loveboxes ;
Conclusion
Today, all Loveboxes returned by customers are either reconditioned or recycled (and even upcycled), whatever the country.
