Reverse logistics implementation

Lovebox collects returns from its customers, and after a long time in storage, a decision had to be made about how to handle them. Lovebox didn’t want to throw away products without consideration for the environment, so it was decided to set up a reconditioning/recycling chain. In this project, I was responsible for the person in charge and helped him with the process.

Process

  • Decision on returns processing: reconditioning (functional returns) and recycling (after-sales returns) ;
  • Sourcing suppliers capable of repackaging and recycling Loveboxes ;
  • Refurbishment process set up ;
  • Production of documentation (video and text) for partners: reconditioning, dismantling a Lovebox, reset process, components to be replaced, defect library ;
  • Estimate returns over a year and order spare parts accordingly for the 2 reverse logistics partners ;
  • Price negotiation ;
  • Checking compliance with procedures and correcting non-compliance ;
  • Stock and costs tracking of refurbished Loveboxes ;

Conclusion

Today, all Loveboxes returned by customers are either reconditioned or recycled (and even upcycled), whatever the country.
